This year the agricultural fair will be held from
the September 27th to 7th of October 2018 on the
motu Ovini at Vaitupa located in Faa'a. The place is situated on the seaside and is one of the best locations for this type of event because it is very spacious.
Like every year, about 300 exhibitors are expected to participate in this agricultural fair.
Open from
9:00 to 18:00, the agricultural fair of Tahiti welcomes every year many professionals in the areas of
agriculture, horticulture, livestock farmers and traders in the food sector.
Thus visitors will have the opportunity to come and to see bred animals in French Polynesia (cows, oxen, pigs, goats etc ...). Like every year, pets like rabbits, guinea pigs, and gallinaceans (chicken, roasters, ducks etc ...) are very popular among the visitors who are mostly children and their parents.
The exhibitors of Fruit trees and vegetables also attract passionate of agriculture and green vegetable garden lovers. Indeed, we can discover many varieties of flowers and fruit trees. It is a great opportunity for visitors to enrich their knowledge on the
vegetation of our Polynesian islands. Visitors can buy plants, trees and ask for advices from professionals in these areas.
And like every year, all along the event there will be
entertainment, demonstrations and agricultural competitions. Children will have the chance to have educational workshops at their disposition so they can learn while visiting the agricultural fair. It also allows visitors to discover new products in all areas presented at this event.
If you're hungry and thirsty it is not a problem, there will be a lot of stands for you if you want to eat and quench your thirst. You can thus enjoy a good “
Ma'a Tahiti”, taste jams made with local fruit and drink good fresh fruit or sugar cane juices.
If you've never been to the agricultural fair or if you are a tourist visiting Tahiti, we recommend you to go for a morning or afternoon. There is a good
local atmosphere and we are sure that you will learn a lot about the
flora, fauna and environment in French Polynesia.
