Beach Soccer World Cup 2013

From september 18th to 28th, 2013 - Tahiti

From september 18th to 28th, 2013, Tahiti will welcome 16 of the best beach soccer teams coming to compete against each other to win the world title. For the second time, the Polynesian league known as the “Tiki Toa” will try their best to get the title from the Russians, winners in 2011 in Ravenne. The competition will definitely be tough especially having the Spanish team desired to follow the path of their elder sister who won the Europe and World Cup, and the Bresilian team worried to win the cup, which they won 4 times.

The games will mainly take place in Papeete, by the front sea and will be an opportunity of discover Polynesia and its people in times of celebration. A welcoming program offered to the visitors by the local people to give an opportunity to non professional beach soccer teams to attend the event at good price and in good housing conditions. Classical housing offers will also be extended by international hotels and family pensions in Tahiti and Moorea, located only at 30min by boat from the competitions.

This event could be a starting or an arrival point of a trip to discover the different sports assets of the Polynesian islands:
• to get introduce or to improve at surfing or body boarding on the East Coast beaches of Tahiti, of Tikehau, of Moorea or even to discover the famous waves of Teahupoo;
• to get to know the va’a, the traditional Polynesian canoe at 1, 3 or 6 seats whose handling requires strength and sharpness to glide over the swell of the pacific;
• to go hiking in the heart of the Crater of Tahiti and bathe in wild waterfalls;
• to explore the most exquisite diving spots in the world in Rangiroa, Fakarava and being in contact with manta raies, sharks or even whales, passing by in the Polynesian waters from July to October.
